Local Attorney Donald McMullen to Provide Commencement Address at Mendocino College

Ukiah, CA – Mendocino College is proud to announce that Mr. Donald McMullen, a Mendocino College Alumnus, will be the 2013 Commencement Speaker. The ceremony will be held on Friday, May 24 at 6:00 p.m. at Mendocino College, 1000 Hensley Creek Road, Ukiah in the Gymnasium.

Mendocino College will honor 260 students with degrees and certificates. Approximately 170 graduates will participate in the commencement ceremony along with approximately 50 full-time professors, elected board members and college administrators.

McMullen, a Ukiah native, graduated from Ukiah High School in 1993 and Mendocino College in 1996. He went on to earn a BS degree in Business Administration from California State University at Chico where he graduated cum laude. He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento and a Juris Doctorate from University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, graduating with distinction.

His professional and legal honors include: Law Review co-editor, McGeorge School of Law, Articles and Symposium; Law Review member, McGeorge School of Law; Graduate, University of Salzburg (Austria), International Legal Studies, Fundamental Rights in Europe and the United States, as presented by United States Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy; Judicial intern, Third District Court of Appeals, Sacramento, Justice George Nicholson.

He returned home in 2002 and set up his legal practice as an associate at the Law Office of Duncan James. An active member of the community, Donald belongs to the Ukiah Men’s Golf Club, Ukiah Host Lion’s Club, he is a former board member on the Ukiah Valley Cultural and Recreational Center (Alex Rorabaugh Center), Member of Mendocino County Search and Rescue Team, and a Director on the Mendocino College Foundation Board.

In his spare time, McMullen and wife Kerry are busy raising two young daughters, Abby age 3 and Presley 10 months.
